DIY Pic-a Mix

I decided to make my own mix of chips instead of getting those ready ones in the grocery.  So I pulled out all the chips I had my eye on that day.  Got an entire cereal lock and lock case, poured all the chips inside and just shook it!

My own Mix!

I had Cheetos, Herrs, Lay’s and Oishi.  Loved how I could choose what taste to try next.  Of course, I had a Hershey’s bar beside me to neutralize the saltiness.  Then I’d just go back and forth.  Oh how good it was!

Try making your own, I’m sure you’ll love it!

Hai Chix & Steaks

At the back of Ortigas Home Depot, we found this Hainanese Chicken and Steak place called Hai Chix & Steaks.  I was told by a friend that if you’re too lazy to go to Makati to go to Mamou to eat steak, this place would do.

We recently tried this restaurant twice in 2weeks.

Then we tried their fried hainan chicken. Nothing great. Tasted like Savoury.

Also ordered their bestseller, Hainanese Chicken. For us it tastes the same as others, but their chicken was soft.

Overall it was an okay experience.  Maybe we just had high expectations due to what we heard.  But we still prefer to travel to Mamou in Rockwell for some steak.   To each its own I guess 🙂

What’s your favorite steak place?

King One Hot Pot

We tried this eat all you can hot pot place, King One.  On Macapagal avenue beside Seaside, you will find this restaurant.  Having a rotary dish server, you’ll feel you’re in another country as its not common in Manila.

King One.
Food is freshly prepared in front of you.  You can just get anything from these dishes going around.

If I remember correctly, it costs 500++ Php per person.  This consists of food and their different types of iced tea.  Their meat tastes good, veggies and seafood fresh.

Unlimited everything
Unlimited everything

From Robinsons Galleria, it only took us 30-40 minutes to get there.  If you’re the type who eats a lot, this place is perfect for you.  More value for your money compared to the other places like Healthy Shabu-Shabu or Ganso Shabuway.  But if you’re one who eats like a bird, then traveling far if you’re from the north might not be worth it.

Try this place out if you want lots of food for less 🙂

Would definitely come back!

Taho Boy

Here’s my new go to dessert to serve when we have parties at home.  Especially for visitors who come from other countries.  It’s so easy to serve, no hassle at all.

They have a modern way to serve taho.  At first, I was weirded out with the straw, but when I tried it, it was really genius.  Gone are the sticky and messy ways of eating taho.  Here, it’s already sealed and everything is already inside the cup.  Then it comes with a big straw so you could just sip the pearls and taho out.  No more sticky spoons or dripping cups to dispose of.

What’s good about it is its perfect serving size.  They also have a medium and large size if this small size isn’t good enough for you.  You can also have them lessen the syrup so it won’t be too sweet.  In fairness, I love how this taho boy tastes.  Real yummy!

Get your taho boy fix in most malls 🙂
